Bunsik expands to Westfield and beyond

Introducing a new retail model for the brand, utilising shared seating in its food court, Bunsik launched a fourth London location at Westfield Stratford City recently. Located within the bustling food court on the lower ground level, the popular grab-and-go street food option's latest venture is the first and only Korean option within the shopping centre.

In response to changing consumer tastes, Bunsik has also introduced a range of vegetarian options to its menu, including the debut of its first Veggie Burger. Its menu continues to feature its signature Korean street food classics, including Korean Corn Dogs, Kimbap, Ddukbokki and Korean Fried Chicken, plus a variety of bubble teas.

This opening is Bunsik’s fifth in total, following the success of the brand’s first venture out of London in Manchester last summer. The small chain’s owners, Maguro Group, have chosen Bunsik as their first franchise endeavor, with a vision to open 20 sites by the year 2026.

Director Jae Cho said: “We're considering several UK cities for expansion, in addition to further locations within London. We have selected Bunsik for franchising due to its simplicity in menu offerings, an attractive price point and its appeal to the younger generation.”
