Shake Shack debuts in Midlands

Hammerson has announced the opening of Shake Shack at Bullring & Grand Central, with New York’s iconic burger restaurant launching its first location in the Midlands at the destination.

Situated in Grand Central, the 2,866 sq ft restaurant offers Shake Shack’s core menu, including breakfast burgers, its signature ShackBurger®, Crinkle-Cut Fries, Flat-top Dogs, ShackMeister® Ale and hand-spun shakes.  

Shake Shack joins a series of international F&B and leisure brands to open in Bullring & Grand Central, including Lane 7, Sandbox, Toca Social, Slim Chickens, Mrs Chew’s Chinese Kitchen, Mowgli and Five Guys.

Colin O’Kane, managing director at Diverse Dining Ltd, operator of the Shake Shack brand in the UK, commented: “With locations across London and the South East, expanding the Shake Shack portfolio to new regions in the UK is a key part of our strategic growth plan, and this debut Midlands site at Bullring & Grand Central is a very important milestone. As the country’s second-biggest city, we’ve had Birmingham in our sights for a while, and situated above the bustling Birmingham New Street Station, Grand Central is the ideal destination for our regional first.”
