Finalists announced for Street Food Championships showdown
The Street Food Championship will take place in a live-action showdown on 26 November at the Big Penny Social
Sixteen of the finest street food traders in the UK have been selected as finalists for the 2024 Street Food Championships.
The annual street food competition brings together a mix of independent and group traders from across the country.
In addition to the coveted title, the winner will secure a rent-free, one-month residency at Mercato Metropolitano in Elephant & Castle, giving them a unique opportunity to showcase their talents in one of London’s vibrant food markets.
Among the finalists are well-known groups such as pub company Wells & Co, My Delhi Indian Streetery, and Thai Leisure Group, alongside independent standouts like Sexy Buns and the 2022 champions, Birria Bandits.
The 16 street food chefs will battle it out to win the coveted Street Food Dish of the Year award. Additionally, there will be a Technical round using sponsors’ products, the Lee Kum Kee Ultimate Umami round and the Wings round, which is sponsored by Major.
“We’re always thrilled to witness the incredible talent in the UK’s street food scene and this year promises to be no exception,” says Tamsyn Halm, editor of OOH Magazine. “We’re excited to see how the finalists turn up the heat in November.”
