De Nadas to open on Stoke Newington Church St
Argentinian hand-shaped empanadas to add to Stokey’s vibrant dining scene this September
De Nadas, the UK’s first ‘empanadería’ is due to open its new venue on Stoke Newington Church Street.
The empanada specialist, which launched its first shop in Notting Hill’s Golborne Road in 2022 followed by a second in Shoreditch’s Rivington Street in 2023, will open in the leafy North-East London enclave this September.
Choosing ‘Stokey’ for its vibrant restaurant scene and strong sense of community, De Nadas will cater for takeaway and sit-in, serving Argentinian hand-shaped empanadas as well as alfajores (Argentinian shortbread biscuits) coffee, South American wines, beers and Vermouth.
Created by Ñako Martinez and Nico Buyo, De Nadas was created to give empanadas the cult-status they deserve in the UK.
All shaped-by-hand, De Nadas offers over 15 varieties with meat, vegetarian and plant-based fillings, as well as sweet fillings and special guest empanadas. Baked not fried, empanadas are made with 100% Argentinian dough. Popular meat fillings include Classic Beef, Spicy Lamb, Chorizo and Ham & Cheese. Many vegetarian varieties include Malbec Onions & Smoked Cheddar, made with caramelised onions in Malbec wine, Caprese, with cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and basil, and Puca Capa, the Bolivian version with cheese and coriander.
This September, De Nadas will also launch new vegan flavours in addition to its Roast Butternut Squash & Kale. A sweet empanada is also available with Dulce de Leche, banana and cream cheese, alongside home-made alfajores.
