Velvet Taco set to open London doors this week
The brand’s first UK location will be on Liverpool St
Londoners will soon have another taco restaurant brand to enjoy, as US cult-favourite Velvet Taco arrives in the city.
The brand, which announced its UK expansion plans in 2024 through a multi-site franchise agreement, is opening in Liverpool Street's Broadgate Circle on Thursday 20 November.
Velvet Taco is known for its global flavour take on the humble Mexican item. The London debut will feature dishes such as the Spicy Chicken Tikka Taco and the Fish 'n' Chips Taco.
It first introduced its unique taco offerings to Dallas, Texas, in 2011. Since then, the brand has opened in more than 50 locations across the United States with plans to continue expanding internationally.
"London celebrates bold ideas and big flavour, exactly what we do at Velvet Taco," says Venecia Willis, director of culinary at Velvet Taco. "We take familiar dishes from around the world and give them an unexpected twist, all made completely from scratch. It’s that mix of creativity and craft that makes every taco a little rebellious and a lot unforgettable. We can’t wait for Londoners to see what we’re all about."
Velvet Taco’s London debut marks the brand’s first step beyond the US, with additional international openings planned for 2026.
