Wingstop UK posts record £125m revenue as expansion accelerates

Wingstop UK announces record-breaking results and ambitious growth plans with backing from Sixth Street

Wingstop UK has reported record results for the nine months ending 29 December 2024.

Revenue reached £125 million, up from £84.7 million in the previous 12-month period, while operating profit rose to £13.7 million from £4.1 million.

The company also opened 15 new restaurants during the period, bringing its total to 57, with strong sales growth across the existing estate.

The past year also saw Wingstop UK recognised in The Sunday Times’ Best Places to Work, the Fast Track 100, and the Financial Times’ FT1000.

Alongside this, the business strengthened its leadership team with CEO Chris Sherriff, CFO Paddy Bamford, COO Matt Sheppard, people director Faye Ryder-Humphries, and CMO Dirujan Sabesan steering its next phase of growth.

Sixth Street Investment Fuels Future Growth

In January 2025, investment firm Sixth Street became the majority shareholder, providing fresh momentum for the brand’s expansion.

With ambitions to reach 200 stores in the next five years, Wingstop has already opened a further 15 sites across the UK since the deal, growing its workforce to over 3,000 employees.

Current trading is said to be in line with expectations, underpinned by strong customer loyalty and industry-leading Net Promoter Scores.

Commenting on the results, CFO Paddy Bamford said: “2024 was a transformational year for Wingstop UK, delivering record results across every metric. Since partnering with Sixth Street, we’ve accelerated our roll-out and deepened our investment in people. We’re focussed on building the UK’s leading fast-casual restaurant brand, powered by the hard work and dedication of our people — the heartbeat of our business.

"I’m proud that Wingstop UK continues to be recognised as one of the Best Places to Work, and through initiatives like The Step Up Programme and Wingstop University we remain committed to creating opportunities for our people to grow."

The Step Up Programme is designed to help crew members progress into leadership roles, while Wingstop University offers tailored training, online learning and expert-led sessions.

Looking ahead, Wingstop UK plans to continue its rapid growth while staying true to its roots in flavour, youth culture and community. With 2025 already shaping up to be another landmark year, the brand is positioning itself firmly as one of the UK’s leading fast-casual dining names.
