The South Kensington-based choux pastry specialist Maître Choux has opened its second site. Master pâtissier Joakim Prat, the three Michelin star chef behind the bakery, launch the new site on Dead Street in Soho on 1st November.
The new site is larger than the original bakery in South Kensington, and features a more spacious seating area for guests to enjoy their confection with a cup of tea, coffee or thick hot chocolate made to Prat s grandmother’s Basque recipe. Maître Choux Soho offers the same core range of hand-crafted eclairs, such as lemon meringue and bergamot, Spanish raspberry, and hazelnut and milk chocolate treasure, as well as regularly changing specials.
Guests ordering chouquettes – empty choux pastry balls topped with pearl sugar – can choose from freshly baked trays containing warm batches baked on site every hour. Orders will also be taken for corporate and private bespoke choux designs.
